Tear Book: Part Two

I love the girl in the corner. I get this funny high fashion safari vibe when I see this page. Not completely sure why though because that is not what it is at all.
I could have a love affair with tufted couches...if that was socially acceptable, of course, which it is not.

Tear Book: Part One

So my friend Ann has a blog called Smart Couture and she has featured her tear book before. Hers is slightly more awesome than mine primarily because of her awesome crafty and highly fashionable tastes/skills & her handwriting totally rocks. She will swear that ours are practically one in the same, but she is nuts. Her tails are way longer and well, they are different.
I have a tear book too. Mine is interiors/fashion inspirations. It is kind of like a portable mood board I suppose.

so this is the first page of mine and it came out of Elle Decor!
I have a minor in French, so I am obligated to like the fanciness and intimacy of it all. I know a lot more than I ever thought I would from not even two semesters. Sometimes I wonder why on earth I am putting myself through all the extra courses and hours of homework and potential GPA killers, but I want it. Not just to be able to say that I have it, to actually use it as a language and through my designs...that and hopefully it will give me a leg up at the hole in the wall thrift/antique stores and flea markets.

While this one is just a single picture on a page, they are not all like this.

Sneak Peek!

Just a litlle sneak peek into my apartment for next year...LL Sams.
This is the exterior the main building and the pool. LL Sams used to be LL Sams & Son's Church Furniture factory, but was reclaimed as an apartment complex.

This is the bonus room and is practically the coolest room in the apartment and it isn't mine! Mainly because there is no insulation and huge windows and my stupid toes get cold really easily. Unfortunate.

This was while we were on a tour and this group of guys were with us (like 6 of them) and they were just chillin in the heart of the space, so this picture kind of sucks, but that is the kitchen...and Marissa (one of my roomies) in the white fleece.

Honestly, I love this picture. A LOT.
The dining area. Kind of small, but lots of character.
You can see the back of a couch which hints that there is the living room. Also not too big.

Three of the four bedrooms have lofts, but not mine. They take up a lot of space and I don't want to deal with it.
When we move in and decorate I will post some more pics, but it isn't our yet!

Keep Calm and Carry On

For those of you who don't know, fliers presenting this message were posted around England during WWII. This homage to the encouraging statement has remained warming and welcoming to this day!

Some of my friends have this in the form of a journal, and I am kind of obsessed (as obsessed as you can be with a journal). BUT one of my friends, Sarah (she is also Interior Design), held hers up and said "this was made for interior designers." I couldn't agree more. So. I think I may have to find a gorgeous frame like this one and hang up a "KEEP CALM and CARRY ON" poster in my apartment next year.

I Love Me Some Pattern.

...in the hallway.
Just imagine putting this wallpaper on the walls in your living room and you find yourself watching a good couple of hours of TV (not that anyone has time for that anymore)...congrats, you are cross-eyed, and when you get up, you stub your toe on the coffee table due to intense dizziness.

I love a bold print like this one because it is bold and fun, but you are only hypnotized for as long as you are strolling down your awesomely cool and unique hallway.
But no, really. I am drooling over this wallpaper and let's not forget the rustic hardwood flooring with loads of personality...and the sconces!
